Many holiday cottages to discover!

In Crook, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

If you have a DVD player in the Durham cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Crook Accomodation

In Crook, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Holiday Cottages

Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the Crook cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. Should you need to cancel your accommodation, again we ask you to contact the agent or owner since we cannot talk to them on your behalf.

Many owners, if they are local, will be pleased to give you tips on the best pubs and restaurants around, so make sure you ask and take advantage of the info! Crook is a great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in Crook. It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
