We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. Although you can buy your essential food and drink items locally, it's great to have them with you so you can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee as soon as you arrive. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Coton Accomodation

Besides the facilities within the Coton cottages, our guests have been known to talk long walks, go horse riding and even more adventurous activities such as climbing. Banking on non-stop sunny Cambridgeshire weather, however, can be a little short-sighted.

If the rainclouds arrive it may be a good idea to stay inside and get out a pack of cards or an old fashioned board game. Cottage owners sometimes leave a few distractions around the property, such as local magazines or guidebooks.

Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.

Holiday Cottages

All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.

Many owners, if they are local, will be pleased to give you tips on the best pubs and restaurants around, so make sure you ask and take advantage of the info! Coton cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in Coton. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

There's also a growing number of holidaymakers who just want to get really energetic and try new things, including abseiling, rafting, climbing and even potholing.
