Many holiday cottages to discover!

Cottage holidays are becoming more and more synonymous with the Great British Break, which is why we have created this site. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments.

Large or small cottage, holiday makers have the freedom to eat in, eat out, stay in bed all day and generally come and go as they please - unlike a bed and breakfast. Always check with the Colne cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. Our great value holiday cottages to rent in Colne are sometimes available for rent for a weekend, week, fortnight, two weeks or even longer.

Colne Accomodation

In Colne, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. School holidays tend to be mid-July to the end of August.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Colne accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

As a reminder, we do not actually take the cottage bookings, we simply connect your with the agencies or owners. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your Colne holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

Although you may not be familiar with the Colne area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. Colne cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

We hope you have a really enjoyable holiday in Colne and remember us next year when it comes to finding the next great Lancashire cottage.

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in Colne. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

There's also a growing number of holidaymakers who just want to get really energetic and try new things, including abseiling, rafting, climbing and even potholing.
