Staying in a Coleford holiday cottage can be a perfect way to take a break as you can forget about household chores and focus on having fun, or a relaxing break. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Coleford Accomodation

The rates for Coleford cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

In the unlikely event that you are not delighted with your holiday cottage in Coleford please email or call the agency you made the booking with. Should you need to cancel your accommodation, again we ask you to contact the agent or owner since we cannot talk to them on your behalf.

Although you may not be familiar with the Coleford area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. Coleford is a great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

There are few better ways to spend a holiday together as a family than in a holiday cottage where everyone truly is in one place, not dotted around a hotel. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Coleford much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
