We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Cockerham Accomodation

Cottage prices in Cockerham will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

As a reminder, we do not actually take the cottage bookings, we simply connect your with the agencies or owners. Some of the best cottages in Cockerham are really excellent and so we encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible to avoid availability disappointment.

The cottage owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Cockerham is a great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities.

Families, Friends and More

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a Cockerham holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring.

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in Cockerham.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
