Cottages for families and friends in and around Clydach

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whatever time you go to Clydach, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Clydach Accomodation

The rates for Clydach cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. July and August are usually Monmouthshire school summer holidays.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Holiday Cottages

Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the Clydach cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.

We've often found the properties have a list of nearby places to grab a bite or a beer - and if the owners are nearby they may filter down the recommendations based on your needs. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about Clydach so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Clydach. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in Clydach.

For others it's an opportunity to get more active, from mountain biking to cross-country running. If you're over 60, we recommend the more relaxed approach!
