For a great stay in the UK with family or friends, holiday cottages are the best way to relax and forget about the stresses of normal life. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments. The best family rental holiday cottages in Stretton are typically small homes for rent that can be treated like your own home for the duration of your cottage holiday. Pet-friendly cottages are on the rise however we do recommend that you ask in advance - unless it's stated on the booking details. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Wherever you stay in Cheshire there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. Banking on continual excellent weather, however, can be a little short-sighted in Cheshire. We live in a country where we're no stranger to rain and preparing for the inevitable downpour is always a good idea. Some cottages will provide a few books and magazines but you aren't likely to get the latest blockbuster or this month's Vogue. Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.
Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the Stretton cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. Nearly all country cottages have free parking near the property, but you may find the urban cottages to have more parking restrictions. Although you may not be familiar with the local area you'll usually find that the owners have left a welcome manual with details of local places to eat, drink and buy supplies. Cheshire and Stretton are great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities. Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring. Whether there's a pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them. Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
