If you have a DVD player in the cottage, definitely take a few great movies. The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking. 

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

The cottage owners may leave some hints for good places to visit nearby and on occasion we've even found that they'll suggest a specific pub or restaurant where you can get a discount. Cheglinch is a great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities. 

Some properties will ask for a security deposit before your arrival date - although this is required in a minority of accommodation and you will be advised at time of booking.

The fact that guests are on holiday in Cheglinch in a rental home together, sometimes with three generations in larger rental holiday homes, brings a much different atmosphere to the cottage break or holiday. When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips. 

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Cheglinch much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions. 

Clothes for the full range of weather; just because you don't think that it looks good outside in the rain it doesn't mean that the little ones will agree.
