Whenever you're travelling to Cemaes Bay, there are a few things you should always take with you. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Cemaes Bay Accomodation

Cottage prices in Cemaes Bay will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Booking early is always a good idea. You have a much better chance of getting your preferred date and accommodation. But, that doesn't mean its impossible to get a late booking.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Cemaes Bay accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you're travelling to Cemaes Bay in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

Many Cemaes Bay visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Cemaes Bay. You take away some of the pressure that appears when staying in a hotel or b and b - you must eat your meals at this time, you must order from this menu.

Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

For others it's an opportunity to get more active, from mountain biking to cross-country running. If you're over 60, we recommend the more relaxed approach!
