Staying in a Cambridge holiday cottage can be a perfect way to take a break as you can forget about household chores and focus on having fun, or a relaxing break. Pet-friendly cottages in Cambridge are on the rise however we do recommend that you ask in advance - unless it's stated on the booking details. We often have late availability cottages to rent in Cambridge for all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Cambridge Accomodation

Throughout the Cambridgeshire area rates will vary quite a bit throughout the year - clearly the winter is the cheapest time. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Cambridge school summer holidays.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

In recent years there has been an increase in the size of cottage agencies. Generally speaking that means that someone is always checking the quality of Cambridge accommodation, either in person, or based on customer feedback.

Holiday Cottages

Our site does not make reservations directly and so we ask that any queries you have with the Cambridge cottage are taken up with the owner or agency. Nearly all country cottages have free parking near the property, but you may find the urban cottages to have more parking restrictions.

We've often found the properties have a list of nearby places to grab a bite or a beer - and if the owners are nearby they may filter down the recommendations based on your needs. Cambridge cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

Some properties will ask for a security deposit before your arrival date - although this is required in a minority of accommodation and you will be advised at time of booking.

Families, Friends and More

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a Cambridge holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! Young children can make your stay even more fun, and we have a few suggestions of things to bring.

Its always a good idea to take swim suits even if you don't expect to be near a beach because you may well find a local swimming pool can be great fun. If the children are really young, don't forget to take nappies and / or a potty as you may find it harder to buy these at your destination.

You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
