FILTER SELECTION
Combining a change from the norm with classic home comforts is an irresistible offer - and why cottage holidays have become so popular. We work with many partners to provide the widest selection of self-catering accommodation we can find, and we hope this makes your search much more easy. Staying in a Hardwick holiday cottage can be a perfect way to take a break as you can forget about household chores and focus on having fun, or a relaxing break. Always check with the Hardwick cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. We often have late availability offers on holiday cottages for family or group bookings but you'll obviously get a restricted choice.

Wherever you stay in Buckinghamshire there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. As we all know, the weather isn't always idyllic - in fact it can be largely unpredictable. We live in a country where we're no stranger to rain and preparing for the inevitable downpour is always a good idea. With wi-fi more and more common (but don't expect urban speeds) you could even download a few great tv shows or games. Or just ignore the rain and get on with whatever you had initially planned and be determined that a little water will not spoil the day.
All the agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or problems. Should you need to cancel your accommodation, again we ask you to contact the agent or owner since we cannot talk to them on your behalf. We've often found the properties have a list of nearby places to grab a bite or a beer - and if the owners are nearby they may filter down the recommendations based on your needs. Buckinghamshire and Hardwick are great locations for a cottage holiday due to their proximity to local facilities and amenities. Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

There are few better ways to spend a holiday together as a family than in a holiday cottage where everyone truly is in one place, not dotted around a hotel. When you're travelling as a family with young kids there are several things we recommend you take with you. If your kids ideal break is to be locked in their room with a video games machine, then prepare the outside adventure with bikes, kites and other stuff to get them out having fun. A long car journey can turn the most engaged children into bored zombies, so take some snacks and have a few games ready to play. Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.

USING THE SITE

There are many companies that offer a range of holiday cottages you can directly book, but our approach is different - we have collated thousands of cottages from different owners and operators and we organise them to help you choose. When you find a cottage you like we will direct you to the booking agent and you can make your reservation directly with them.
