Cottages for families and friends in and around Buckfastleigh

Many holiday cottages to discover!

To make the best of your trip in Buckfastleigh, we recommend you bring some essential items. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

If you like watching films and there's a DVD facility in the cottage then it's a good idea to stock up on some good movies so you can spend a couple of nights enjoying the classics. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Children love to get out of the cottage (not because the cottages aren't great, but because its fun to play outside!) and this is a great benefit of staying in a country cottage. You can never truly rely on the weather in Buckfastleigh Devon or frankly anywhere in the UK.

Although its great to be outside in Buckfastleigh, you can often have just as much fun with your friends or family if you stay in and play some games. Cottage owners sometimes leave a few distractions around the property, such as local magazines or guidebooks.

Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.

Holiday Cottages

When you're searching for the best cottage for your stay, make sure that you've thought through the bedroom needs and allocation. If you're travelling to Buckfastleigh in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to Buckfastleigh. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a Devon cottage found through us!

Families, Friends and More

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a Buckfastleigh holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

Although its not to all parents' tastes, you can buy very cheap in-car DVD players to amuse the kids, and they can often be plugged into the standard power sockets when you arrive. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them.

Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
