Bridge of Weir Cottages
Cottages for families and friends in and around Bridge of Weir

Many holiday cottages to discover!

In Bridge of Weir, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If you like watching films and there's a DVD facility in the cottage then it's a good idea to stock up on some good movies so you can spend a couple of nights enjoying the classics. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Bridge of Weir Accomodation

Wherever you stay in Bridge of Weir there's usually a good range of fun to be had outdoors - from the most energetic sports to the most relaxing pastimes. You can never truly rely on the weather in Bridge of Weir Renfrewshire or frankly anywhere in the UK.

When the weather takes a turn for the worse its a great time to stay indoors and play some classic family games. Cottage owners sometimes leave a few distractions around the property, such as local magazines or guidebooks.

Or you can just embrace the weather and get out there in a raincoat, splash about, and pretend that you really are still young.

Owners with often leave instructions on how to use the appliances in the property, as well as some suggestions on the nearest shop to buy a pint of milk etc. Bridge of Weir has long been popular as a place to stay and we encourage you to investigate the surrounding area as much as possible.

If you are travelling from abroad, please make sure that you have the correct visas (if required) and all the passports are up to date.

Families, Friends and More

Young children and babies can be more easily accommodated for in a holiday cottage where the parents do not feel pressure from other families who may not have young children. Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. Snacks for the car can make the trip to Bridge of Weir much more pleasant - bored kids with low blood sugar are not the perfect companions.

Sometimes just taking a few soft toys from home can make bedtime feel more comfortable in a strange house, and they don't need to take much space in the boot.
