Cottages for families and friends in and around Birchington

Many holiday cottages to discover!

If you want to have the best cottage holiday possible in Birchington, we suggest a few key items to take along. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Birchington Accomodation

Birchington holiday accommodation rates increase in peak season, which is generally around the times of the school summer holidays. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

Holiday Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Birchington with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Birchington cottage. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Birchington cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

We want you to have a great Kent holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in Birchington. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in Birchington.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
