Cottages for families and friends in and around Berwickshire

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Whenever you're travelling to Berwickshire, there are a few things you should always take with you. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If you like watching films and there's a DVD facility in the cottage then it's a good idea to stock up on some good movies so you can spend a couple of nights enjoying the classics. Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Berwickshire Accomodation

Children love to get out of the cottage (not because the cottages aren't great, but because its fun to play outside!) and this is a great benefit of staying in a country cottage. You can never truly rely on the weather in Berwickshire or frankly anywhere in the UK.

We live in a country where we're no stranger to rain and preparing for the inevitable downpour is always a good idea. If there's a TV in the property then you can sit around a watch re-runs of quiz shows, comedies and whatever else is on.

Alternatively get back in the car, drive to a local pub, and snuggle up for the day in front of a fire and a couple of pints.

Holiday Cottages

We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. Everyone owner or lettings agency can have a slightly different cancellation policy so please be sure to check before you make your reservation.

Many owners, if they are local, will be pleased to give you tips on the best pubs and restaurants around, so make sure you ask and take advantage of the info! Berwickshire cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

Some properties will ask for a security deposit before your arrival date - although this is required in a minority of accommodation and you will be advised at time of booking.

Families, Friends and More

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Berwickshire. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

You can decide what food and drink you want to consume, and you can choose when to sit down and eat it... or even stand up and eat it! Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
