Many holiday cottages to discover!

If you want to have the best cottage holiday possible in Ballina, we suggest a few key items to take along. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Ballina Accomodation

Cottage prices in Ballina will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Ballina school summer holidays.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

Holiday Cottages

We deal with some of the best cottage agencies in the country so we're confident that they will resolve any small issues you may encounter. It is of course possible that you need to cancel your Ballina holiday cottage so ensure you read the cancellation terms on the agency or owners website / contract.

Many owners, if they are local, will be pleased to give you tips on the best pubs and restaurants around, so make sure you ask and take advantage of the info! Ballina cottages range in size and price, but based on our knowledge of the cottage agencies and owners, all should be good quality.

Some people ask whether bed linens and towels are provide, and in our experience linen is yes, towels can be no - but you should check with the owner / agency.

Families, Friends and More

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a Ballina holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! Youngsters are always excited about self-catering breaks, but we've collated a short list of things to help it go smoothly!

First of all, make sure you remember their shampoo, since not all stores in Ballina will carry tear-free shampoo. A lot of the cottages we've researched do have some basic infant facilities such as cots and high chairs, so definitely ask if you need them.

You'll need to think about a few of their favourite books and games to help them feel at home in the cottage and settle in for a good nights sleep.
