BT2 Accomodation

The rates for BT2 cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. School holidays tend to be mid-July to the end of August.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

Holiday Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Is there agreement on an old fashioned cottage, or should you be looking for something contemporary with all the modern appliances?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the BT2 cottage. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

We want you to have a great holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Families, Friends and More

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in BT2. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in BT2.

On the other hand, there's a growing proportion of visitors who use their time away from home to get fitter and try new things - such as mountain biking, horse riding or canoeing.
