Cottages for families and friends in and around BR1

Many holiday cottages to discover!

Cottage holidays are becoming more and more synonymous with the Great British Break, which is why we have created this site. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments.

The best family rental holiday cottages in BR1 are typically small homes for rent that can be treated like your own home for the duration of your cottage holiday. A larger number of cottages will accept pets (and for pets, read 'dogs') but you must check first. We can help if you're looking for a holiday cottage or other accommodation in BR1 to stay in with your family for a week or two or somewhere in BR1 to stay with friends over a long weekend.

BR1 Accomodation

Benefits of staying in a county cottage include being able to jump out of the front door and take part in outdoor pursuits from walking to horse riding, and from fishing to paddling. You can never truly rely on the weather in BR1 or frankly anywhere in the UK.

Although its great to be outside in BR1, you can often have just as much fun with your friends or family if you stay in and play some games. Many cottages now have DVD players so maybe its worth taking a few a classic movies with you.

Whatever you decide, we're sure it will be a memorable part of your cottage holiday in BR1.

Holiday Cottages

All the booking agents we work with have good customer service teams, so please contact them if you have additional questions or encounter any problems. Some of the best cottages in BR1 are really excellent and so we encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible to avoid availability disappointment.

We've often found the properties have a list of nearby places to grab a bite or a beer - and if the owners are nearby they may filter down the recommendations based on your needs. If you're travelling from a long way, you may not know much about BR1 so we suggest a little research in advance to find the best attractions.

A few properties have access to outdoor swimming pools, but please remember that these are often only accessible during the summer months, and that you are responsible for you own safety!

Families, Friends and More

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in BR1. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! A large number of our visitors like to use their stay as an opportunity to just put their feet up, gaze at the scenery, take an afternoon nap, and enjoy a nice home cooked meal. Just taking it easy in BR1.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
