Many holiday cottages to discover!

Cottage holidays are becoming more and more synonymous with the Great British Break, which is why we have created this site. The vast majority of our self-catering properties are cottages in rural towns and villages, but we do have some city based properties, many of which are apartments.

The best family rental holiday cottages in BR1 are typically small homes for rent that can be treated like your own home for the duration of your cottage holiday. Always check with the BR1 cottage owner before you take pets - although many are pet friendly. We often have late availability cottages to rent in BR1 for all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

BR1 Accomodation

Throughout the area rates will vary quite a bit throughout the year - clearly the winter is the cheapest time. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the BR1 school summer holidays.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

Holiday Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to BR1 with you. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the BR1 cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Families, Friends and More

The best part of going on holiday with a family is the sense of comfort you all get when walking into a BR1 holiday cottage - where everything there is designed to make your stay better! When you're so focused on the final destination, its easy to forget to pack some of the basics, so here are a few tips.

Whether there's a swimming pool attached to the property, or in the nearby leisure centre, swimming trunks and swimming costumes are easy to forget. Check whether the cottage can supply cots or high chairs if you need them - you may be surprised how common this is in BR1.

Finally, remember to take your camera - there's nothing better than seeing smiling, happy faces running around and you'll want to capture them.
