If you have a DVD player in the Derbyshire cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. We love finding great new cottages, part of the fun of a holiday is not quite knowing where you're going!

Ashbourne Accomodation

The rates for Ashbourne cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Ashbourne school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

Holiday Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to Ashbourne, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. If you're travelling to Ashbourne in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Ashbourne with you. If the description of the Ashbourne cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

We want you to have a great Derbyshire holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Families, Friends and More

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Ashbourne. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. For many people the idea of a Ashbourne cottage holiday allows them to relax, take long rambling walks and stop off at a country pub for a pint and a ploughman's lunch.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
